CPTED Ontario is pleased to announce its 2005 CPTED and Main Street Workshop in picturesque Owen Sound, Ontario located on the South Bruce Peninsula of beautiful Georgian Bay.

This results in a natural attraction to Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. Learn how CPTED can be applied to a main street environment and find out what challenges are from the CPTED perspective.
- Tom McKay
Constable Tom McKay is a 20 year veteran of the Peel Regional Police, where he has specialized in CPTED for the past 13 ½ years. Tom has written numerous articles on CPTED, instructs CPTED courses throughout North America and is a recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Herman Goldstein Excellence in Problem Solving Award from the Police Executive Research Forum.

- Bill VanRyswyk
Sergeant Bill VanRyswyk is a twenty one year veteran of the Ottawa Police Service and is responsible for the CPTED and Crime Free Multi-Housing Programs. He is recognized as an expert in the area of CPTED, as well as an experienced security specialist and provides. specialized CPTED training throughout Canada. In addition, Bill is the president and senior partner of Security Through Safe Design Inc.
- Shane Rechner
Shane Rechner is the Resource Protection Regional Manager (Central Ontario and GTA) for Sears Canada. He received his CPO (Certified Protection Officer) designation from the International Foundation of Protection Officers. Shane was honoured by his peers who named him Resource Protection Manager of the Year in recognition of his work in developing Sears Canada’s National CPTED
