Robert Metail, Architectural Security Consultant, Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Currently Robert Metail is a Senior Physical Security Advisor with the RCMP’s Technical Security Branch, Robert provides advice and guidance on security related issues to various federal government departments. He also represents the RCMP on International committees and liaisons with representatives of foreign governments on security related issues.
Prior to this, Robert started with the RCMP in the Training section as a physical security instructor. A played a key role in developing the current physical security training course and conducted specialized internal training workshops.
Prior to joining the RCMP Robert spent seven years as a professor at Algonquin College in the Security Management program, developing and teaching security related courses.
Robert has a background in architecture, and worked on a number of government projects involving the integration of security solutions.
He started getting involved in the CPTED community in the mid 1990’s as a member of the ICA (International CPTED Association).
